New Blog Location

Hello all!

To the interested parties out there…I’ve decided to make the switch from WordPress to Blogspot for my blog.   WordPress is a good site and once something was learned easy to use; but for me, it was difficult to learn new things on it (i.e. how to use it) and I thought it limited my options for improvements and additions more than it needed to.   I was advised by someone who had experience with both Blogspot and WordPress that I would be happier with Blogspot, so the switch has been made.  🙂

Check out the new blog at  I won’t be posting here anymore. 🙂

Charmaine Yoest on Abortion in New HealthCare Bill Legislation

Hello all!

It’s a bit overwhelming in the wake of all that’s happened on Capitol Hill concerning Healthcare, to know where to start and what needs to be said in the wake of this monumental (for better or for worse) legislation.   So, when in doubt, fall back on people leading the fight. 🙂

Imbedded in this post is a YouTube video in which Charmaine Yoest, President and CEO of Americans United for Life (AUL), discussing on Fox News exactly how and why the bill is not as protective of the status quo as its proponents would have you believe.   I post this for educational purposes and would encourage you to look more into the matter in your own.   Though the bill has been passed, the fight is by no means over, and in light of that, it’s important that pro-life advocates such as myself are familiar with what is in the bill and what its impact will be.

Without further ado, here is the video.

Acts 20:24-27

“But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God.

“And now, behold, I know that all of you, among whom I went about preaching the kingdom, will no longer see my face.

“Therefore, I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men.

“For I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of God.

Romans 8

1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. 23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. 24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us[b] with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. (Romans 8, New King James Version)

  2. Romans 8:26 NU-Text omits for us.

Reagan on Healthcare and the Imposition of Socialism

Hey all!

I heard about a video of Ronald Reagan speaking out against Socialized Healthcare, so naturally my interest was piqued and I immediately went to look it up.  Having looked it up and listened to it, I heartily recommend that you do so as well.  It’s very insightful and applicable to the issues of today.   I have imbedded the YouTube version of it below, so you needn’t go far to find it. 😉

Stand to Reason Blog: The Bible Was Only Written by Men…

Hello all!

I want to pop in quickly and share a blog post that I found to be thought provoking.  It comes from the blog “Stand to Reason” (I found it by way or friends blog).  The post is titled “The Bible Was Only Written by Men…and Men Make Mistakes.”.   In the post, the author points out two big flaws to this argument.

Flaw 1: “…it doesn’t follow that because the Bible’s written by men, that it therefore must be in error. Human error is possible, not necessary. If human error were always necessary in anything man said, this challenge would be self-refuting (“suicide tactic”). If all human claims were necessarily in error, then the claim that the Bible was written by men and men make mistakes would also be in error because it’s a claim made by men who err, defeating itself.”

Flaw 2: “Second, this is circular reasoning. If there’s good evidence the Bible can be trusted, then the issue of man’s involvement is moot…”

The author adds additional insight to both propositions but keeps ii conveniently succinct, so be sure to check it out here.

Sin Will Take You Farther-The Cathedrals

Hey all!

It’s been way to long since I’ve posted!   I’ve had so much going on in my life recently that blogging has taken quite a far backseat, to be honest.  But, I would like to begin blogging regularly again, even if it is only short posts, as part of a new effort I am making to live a disciplined life in all areas, but particularly in the area of school and devotions.   This blog will hopefully serve to motivate me to make wise and productive use of my time. 🙂

I don’t have anything ready to share of my own at this particular moment, but as I was studying this evening (school) and meditating on several things God has placed in my heart and mind recently, I stumbled across the song “Sin Will Take You Farther” by the Cathedrals.  It’s a simply song, but it spoke to my heart very deeply and I thought it would be a good one to share here.   So, that’s what I am doing. 🙂  I hope you enjoy it.
